75% PENIS AND 25% JAZZ-BURGER....

You have a great stage presence and style. I used to be a geeky greasy metal kid moshing to slayer, there was no chance i could get a bird unless she was a bit of a dweeb. I think it was when i first went to Pigs that even then i felt the need to up my game a bit, you know get my steez down. Contemporary synth pop bands generally seem to be pretty fucking cool bastards but i always have a feeling that they may have been geekoids once in their time, hence their need to be proper cool. Were you ever geekoids? and when did you find your cool?

weirdly enough we were all direct relatives of the fonze so we've always had some sort of ice cold, running through our veins, i recall one low point however, when i almost ventured in to a games workshop and bought a complete set of 5th series battle ork's, luckilly i had people looking out for me and they pulled me thru.

98 was a special year for a lot of my friends. I was 18, it was the
pinicle of bad 90s bmx style and the beginning of a new breed, not that you care but i have a mate known sometimes as Benson 98 ..So why Robsynth 98 aside from the obvious synth reference?

it came from some shitty tag once wrote on robs work van, poking fun at crap dirt graphiti, the best part of it was it was actually 2000 when he wrote 98 as the year.
it just stuck

Your myspace profile says you are "75% PENIS AND 25% JAZZ-BURGER" is there room for anything else?

theres allways a lil' room for experimentation and addition

Nu-Rave. Discuss?

its from some dudes who found their warehouse full of old glowsticks and wondered how the hell are we gonna shift these? one of the warehouse owners, had a mate called keith klaxoid and got him to form a rave group under a pseudo name and kick off a revolution for bored indie kids - thus giving great demand for glowsticks and the term Nu-Rave
i know this to be fact !

What is your view on the music industry being london-centric? Do you think you will always keep rooted to Doncaster, or would you be tempted south for 'that big deal'?

i don't think we're particularly anchored to doncaster, its just where we all happen to be and its kinda central to most places
i dont think we would mind moving about, but i guess we dont feel theres any exclusivity to london, there are pleanty of other good city music scenes.

Best gig played?

theres been some great ones, belgium, holland, itally, but the koko in london had to be the best, we played an NME night straight after the pippettes played, and i think there was like 2000+ people we got some guy out of the crowd to work out on stage on a ski machine whilst we delivered our sonic rabble.

Are you still running a club night in Doncaster?

Pat still books bands and promotes for a club called the Priory, but we gave club plastix a rest, i think we should try start it up again it was fun in a kinda little inbread way, i miss it.

Top 5 dance floor filler tracks?

ok quick of the top of my head...

Bobby Orlando - how to pick up girls
Frankie Knuckles - i need your love
!!! - hello is this thing on?
talking heads - cross-eyed and painless
midnight juggernauts - shaddows

Anything planned for the future, aside from time travel?

erm...
no not really, we use up all our time just trying to find an
alternative to the flux capacetor michael j fox isnt too helpful these days, so it just takes up all our time, to even think about future plans

Is there an album on the cards?

now i guess theres a future plan right there, yeah we're trying to write an albums worth of rustic gems and who knows, maybe some dude will put that out for us

Funniest gig story?
i guess we're pretty boring, heres where i'd like to say we get crazy on stage and it allway involves the police shutting us down , but nope.
we've played a coupple of gigs where we've forgotten a keyboard and had to seveerly add lib to where a keyboard part would be sung by pat, is that funny ? no? anybody?

Wierdest influence on a song or style?

we're all influenced by Marcel Duchamps Fountain, theres a lot to be learnt from that peice.
